Did you know that GrowNYC is celebrating 50 years of greenmarkets?

Just visiting the area’s farmers markets is a wonderful way to celebrate, and starting June 14 we have one more.

The seasonal Domino Park greenmarket will reopen Sundays, starting on June 14 from 8 a.m.–3 p.m. through November 22.  They will also accept food scrap drop-off, in partnership with Domino Park, while the Sunday greenmarket is open. Accepted food scraps are: fruit, vegetables, ground coffee, and bread. They do NOT currently accept: fish and meat, citrus, compostable cutlery, sauces, or oils.

Also S & SO Produce is back at McCarren Park’s greenmarket as of May 23.  They are a fourth generation farm operated by the Osczepinski family, which is located in the heart of the Black Dirt Region of New York. S&SO Produce Farms offers a large selection of vegetables and herbs. They are also one of the original producers to start the greenmarket program back in 1976.  They are at McCarren through November.
