Hundreds of neighborhood baseball players in all sizes and in colorful uniforms brought a vibrant fun energy to Grand Street on Saturday, April 25th. The parade and festivities were to celebrate opening day and showed off some team spirit. The Williamsburg Sports League has so far registered over 1,000 kids from the ages of 4 through 16 and comprises 40 teams, which include a girls’ softball team. The parade and ceremony certainly exemplified this year’s theme: Empowering youth through sports! WSL Commissioner Tommy Torres said, “A beautiful day for a parade. A great day for baseball and community!”
