May 30th was a happy day judging from all the smiles on the faces of those who participated in and crossed the finish line of the 3rd Annual McCarren 5K. St. Nicks Alliance’s friendly and fun fundraiser for summer camp crossed a finish line of its own: it set out to best the amount ($53,400.00) it raised last year and it did.

A generous donation of $2,500 came in at the final stretch from Aaron McCann, owner of Williamsburg Pizza. Mr. McCann was introduced to St. Nicks Alliance by Tommy Torres (Commissioner of the Williamsburg Sports League, Assistant Principal for Progress High School).  Mr. Torres a staunch supporter of St. Nicks Alliance also ran in the M5K.

It is important to note that all the donations of all sizes added up to the goal breaking amount that will bring an enriching summer camp experience to North Brooklyn kids.
