This year marked the 45th year St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church celebrated an early Kwanzaa with the neighborhood. Over 75 people participated in this Kwanzaa. Sonny Causey officiated the ceremonial parts of the evening and acknowledged symbols of the holiday: the mat, the crops, the corn, the candle holder and the seven candles, and the unity cup.  Dinner was served, poetry read, music was played, in addition to a fun flea market and give away table.
