Elder Care Section: Swinging Sixties Senior in Profile:

Frankie Sw60s 001
2nd Generation Swinging Sixties Senior, Frank is a staple at Swinging Sixties’ Senior Center.

Frank “the Center’s Helper”

Frank began visiting the Swinging Sixties Center (211 Ainslie St.) over twenty years ago when his parents were Swinging Sixties Seniors. Frank became an official Swinging Sixties Senior in August of 2014 when he retired from work as a Wall Street messenger. A job he held for 37 ½ years.

He considers the center a second home.  Frank has known John Pelle, the center’s director, from when they were kids, and he considers staff members Roseann Tuohy and Marie Carlo great friends.  “Those three really work hard for the center. They are really great people,” said Frank.

Frank sees the center as a place to enjoy yourself, meet new people, and forget about troubles. “Everyone is close and helps each other out,” he says.  He enjoys helping out at the center, sometimes he’ll distribute flyers or shred paper.  Frank also participates in the various activities the center offers, particularly Dancing Danny, Bingo, Tai Chi, and watching the movies they show there.
