What do you do when a 35-year-old dream comes true? You have a BBQ and acknowledge those neighbors who joined together and stuck to their purpose to give the community something better than an overcrowded homeless shelter.  The Greenpoint Renaissance Enterprise Corp. (GREC) celebrated City approval of the final plan for the Greenpoint Hospital campus that will create over 500 new affordable rental apartments (110 for seniors), maintain a high-quality 200-bed shelter on the campus, and include new community facilities. St. Nicks Alliance, Hudson Companies, and Project Renewal were designated by the City to make the plan a reality.

“There’s a renaissance going on, and it’s so appropriate that GREC has renaissance in its name!” said Council Member Antonio Reynoso.
