Southside United H.D.F.C–Los Sures, the legendary community development organization that spearheaded redevelopment of the Southside of Williamsburg celebrated their 46th anniversary at Freehold on October 25th. Executive Director Juan Ramos presented a new vision called “Powering Williamsburg Forward” and announced new senior housing for the Reingold development. Honorees included Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez; Charles Georgelis, the founder of FG-PH; Barbara Schliff, the Tenant Organizing Director for the organization, and Jennifer Gutierrez, the Chief of Staff for Council Member Antonio Reynoso.
