This year Council Member Antonio Reynoso honored Debra Benders, Cooper Park Residents Council president; Steven Ciego, Brooklyn Ballers Basketball coach; and Ornella Enoise, Brooklyn School of Math and Science student at his annual Black Leadership Celebration. The event was held in the solarium of NYC Health + Hospitals Woodhull Hospital. Council Member Reynoso and Ausar Burke from Churches United for Fair Housing (CUFFH) opened the celebration, and then Bishop Dr. Michael Clarke, President of the 83rd Clergy Council gave the invocation. Woodhull Chief Executive Officer Gregory Calliste was the special speaker and the crowd was entertained by Cynthia Hernandez’s rendition of “Natural Woman” and the El Puente Dance Team.
