Students Studio Visit : Artist Sam Moyer

FA NYC group 001
Bushwick artists Eddie Martinez and Sam Moyer hosted studio visits with Free Arts teens. During the visits the artists guided the students through their creative practice and the business of being an artist

Free Arts NYC students received a tour of Bushwick artist, Sam Moyer’s studio before diving into the artwork-making process to produce striking, marble-based geometric works that Moyer’s is known for. She demonstrated the process of working with plaster and pouring molds, then led the students into making art themselves. The kids each had the chance to make their own Sam Moyer-inspired artwork, working with plaster and marble — a medium many of the kids had never worked with before.
