June 22nd will mark one year that Loconsolo Paints opened their store on 371 Graham Avenue. This store is the fourth of this family-owned and operated multiple outlet chain of Benjamin Moore Decorating Centers. It’s a business that has been dedicated to customer service for more than 60 years. To celebrate their first year in Williamsburg/Greenpoint they will host a special all-day celebration Saturday, June 22nd, during their business hours (8am–5pm). Breakfast, lunch, and Italian ices will be served. There will be activities for all sorts such as: a raffle (prize TBD but could be enough paint for a bedroom), face painting, and vendor demos. For instance, Olemar will demonstrate applications of its decorative finishes.
With a focus on service and reliability, Loconsolo Paints is in its 4th generation of the family business, which began with the Coney Island store. They went on to add two more Brooklyn locations and one in the Bronx. The Williamsburg store specializes in wall coverings, paint, and decorative products like wood stains and Venetian and metallic plasters. They deliver six days a week (they are closed on Sunday) free of charge. The store supplies all types of decorating projects from small DIY to big commercial jobs and caters to a wide variety of clientele: home and small business owners, contractors, property managers, schools, hospitals, institutions, etc. Paint and supplies were purchased from them for renovations in the churches of Divine Mercy Parish and for the mural to Nipsey Hussle on Frost Street.
Like any good neighbor, Loconsolo likes to support the surrounding community. Plus they like to utilize local knowledge and talent; the store on Graham Avenue hired Nelson three months ago, who has lived on Metropolitan Avenue by Lorimer for 25 years.
As it is prime decorating season, Loconsolo Paints’ anniversary celebration will also come with a hearty helping of home improvement inspiration. It’s the perfect place to reimagine one’s living or working spaces, and plan for a future project.
