P.S. 16 serves students in Pre-K through 5th grade. We provide a safe learning environment for all our students and have been recognized as a No Place for Hate Gold Star School for three consecutive years. We set high expectations for students and empower them to take on leadership roles and advance social-emotionally and academically.
Part of our new curriculum includes Math enVision which combines problem-based learning and visual learning. We are also implementing Amplify Science where students are empowered to think, read, and write like real scientists.
We are proud to offer computer science classes through the NYC Software Engineering Program (SEPjr), which teaches students to code, problem solving, and programming. Our classes are equipped with iPads and robots to allow students to participate in both plugged and unplugged computing lessons.

P.S. 18 is the Multilingual Neighborhood School of Williamsburg. We are proud to state that we offer an intimate classroom environment where all children’s needs are met through a culturally responsive learning environment. Hydroponic Technology & First Polish-English Dual Language Program
Housed in a landmark building in the heart of Greenpoint, P.S. 34 continues to grow, inspire, and challenge our students to achieve success in an environment that allows students to explore a multitude of programs, enrichments, and initiatives.
For school year 2019-2020, we are proud to announce a new partnership with CAMP (Creative Arts & Music Program) and cultural dance and drama program. Also new for this year, through a Walentas Family Foundation grant is the SciArt program. This program will be provided by a partnership between Eckford Street Studios and STEM Enrichment at P.S. 34.
As a member of Eco-School, students from kindergarten to fifth grade participate in our Eco-STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program. In this program, students learn problem-solving and critical thinking as they study and explore the environment in our school, community, and planet. Our STEM Lab provides hands-on learning through our hydroponic system and technology with our state of the art mobile STEM carts equipped with iPad and science tools for research.
As the first Polish-English Dual Language program in New York City, we are delighted to announce that in the last school year our program grew to include a fourth-grade class. The Polish dual language program develops bilingualism in English and Polish as well as an understanding of the Polish culture. Non-Polish speaking students are also eligible to apply. We look forward to the addition of a 5th grade Dual Language class next year.
Students at P.S. 34 have the opportunity to explore and discover their passion by taking part in our expanded enrichments. They participate in theater, acting, and ballroom dancing. Our students discover their artistic talents in our art program with our dedicated, full-time visual arts teacher as well as our art partners. P.S. 34 collaborates with Williamsburg Movement & Arts Center, Eckford Street Studios, Theater, Disney Musicals in the Schools, and Dancing Classrooms, Chess at 3 after school, and St. Nicks Alliance.
Parents are always welcome and encouraged to participate in their child’s education at P.S. 34. P.S. 132 is fondly known as the Shining Star of Williamsburg! At P.S. 132, we believe that creativity must be sparked and a fervor for learning must be instilled. P.S. 147 has solidified its position as one of the premier elementary schools in District 14. Under the leadership of Principal, Sandra Noyola and Assistant Principal, Eliza Figueroa, this K through 5 community school has become a lodestone for families seeking a learning environment with a rigorous academic curriculum, a steadfast commitment to arts education, and a deep appreciation and understanding for the many cultures of the world. P.S. 147 fits the bill in every regard. Its project based learning and reciprocal teaching models are ideal for cultivating the higher order thinking skills of its students and its state-of-the-art hydroponic lab provides students with the kind of experiential learning environment that will support critical thinking, exploration and synthesis of old and new knowledge. P.S. 147 has maintained years-long relationships with a number of community-based arts partners, including St. Nicks Alliance, and continues to attract teaching artists and creatives interested in working with their students. Last, but not least, P.S. 147’s Japanese Dual Language program, now in its fifth year, continues to draw families from across the five boroughs, eager to have their young scholars immersed in Japanese language and culture. It remains the first and only Japanese DLP in New York City. The Williamsburg Magnet School for Communications and Multimedia Arts (P.S. 250) is a unique community whereby all stakeholders participate in the education and well-being of our children. At M.S. 582 we prepare students to thrive in the 21st century economy. Madiba Prep located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, serves scholars in grades 6–8. Madiba not only focuses on the academics, but also the social and emotional well-being of our scholars. Founded in 1997, The High School for Enterprise, Business and Technology (EBT) has been preparing students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the next phase of their lives.
