June 22 will be here before we know it. June 22 is Primary Election Day when the candidate field for NYC Council and Mayor will narrow greatly.
March 23 was a popular night to meet candidates running for mayor and city council. The mayoral meet the candidates held on this night was hosted by PIX 11 News, the Community Service Society, El Puente, and the Legal Aid Society. It was shown on Facebook Live and you can view it below.
City council candidates for District 33 were hosted by Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park. The first part of the event was reserved for the 3rd Annual Spring Convocation for the Bushwick Inlet Park. A dynamic opening gave you a birds-eye view of the the park and inlet via video drone. The Friends of Bushwick Park filled the following 24 minutes with a brief overview of their advocacy, insight into the current development status of the park, and upcoming events like the 10th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep on May 1st. Then at the 24 minute mark each candidate had three minutes to pitch their platform. Also Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney popped in to give a quick update on recent legislative developments and her work to bring a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination site at Cooper Park Houses.
