December 18th the gates of the Giglio Boys Club swung open for the 26th time to bring Santa and toys to neighborhood children.  Santa arrived via FDNY firetruck instead of via sleigh.  Street traffic wear his reindeer out, so he’s saving them for the big day.  The line-up of kids was long despite the gloomy day, and Santa brought some festive snow, the kind that brings smiles not chills.  The annual toy drive is funded by donations received at events the club holds throughout the year, and has become a neighborhood holiday good cheer tradition.
