Are You Up for the Nae Nae Challenge?

CM Reynoso Nae Nae Challenge 01
Council Member Antonio Reynoso and students of his alma mater MS 50 take the Nae Nae Challenge

On October 9th, Council Member Antonio Reynoso with staff and students of his alma mater MS 50 took to the stage to do the Nae Nae to show #IAmPublicEd. Right before they danced, the councilman challenged Assemblywoman Maritza Davila and MS 577 to take the Nae Nae Challenge.

MS 577 took the councilman’s challenge and, as of this writing, will soon be posting the video.

The Nae Nae Challenge is part of the Alliance for Quality Education’s #IAmPublicEd social media campaign. Its purpose is to celebrate public schools.  MS 50 had an addition reason to celebrate: their new Community School status which has brought them the National Parent-Teacher Home visit Project, extended learning time, and an integrated arts project, among other things.

If you want to help encourage and celebrate public education and would like to take part in the Nae Nae Challenge to show your support for public schools, take a 15-30 second video and post it on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #IAmPublicEd #NaeNaeChallenge.  The video should include:

  • An intro with your name, school, #IAmPublicEd, and your public education success story!!
  • The Nae Nae dance for Public Schools!!
  • A challenge to 3 friends to do the #IAmPublicEd Nae Nae Challenge!!
