Read Across America Day at PS 132!

Each year on March 2nd schools across America celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday by reading all school day long. On this day, PS 132 welcomes invited readers from the community in to read their favorite book to a classroom. The PS 132 students are encouraged to bring their favorite books also and, as it is always best to be at your most comfy when being read to, they can come to school in their pajamas.
Before any book is opened, the main hallway hosts a parade of all the classes, each chanting their reading rally cries like: “If you’re happy and you know it read a book!” This year Council Member Antonio Reynoso, CEC District 14 Superintendent Alicja Winnicki, Frank Lang and Debra Sue Lorenzen from St. Nicks Alliance, and Joseph and Cathy Franquinha from Crest Hardware were among those invited to impart their own love of reading to the students.
