Perfect breezes, blue skies, and timing that was just right for a Dragon to appear. The Sunday morning before the last episode of Game of Thrones would air that night, a Dragon (in inflatable kite form) made an appearance at PS 132’s 15th Annual Kite Fest.
PS 132’s Kite Fest is a major fundraiser for the school, but another focus of the school is to bring the community together. Kite flyers of all ages were present. The youngest got flying lessons from their parents, and their joy at flying their first kite was palpable. This annual event had begun at McCarren Park, but moved over to East River Park ten years ago and has stayed there ever since.
